Senior Case Manager
Silvia worked as an immigration paralegal in immigration law offices before joining CARECEN SF’s Family Wellness Program. Silvia has a passion for social justice, education, and self-sufficiency and is committed to promoting the community’s well-being and health through education and advocating for their rights. Silvia also facilitates peer support groups based on people-nature techniques, including Latin American cultural art, as an approach to empower and preserve their roots.
Silvia holds a Master’s degree in Integral Health Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Social Justice from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) with a certificate in Wellness and Health Coaching. Also, certificates as a Community Mental Health Worker from City College of San Francisco, and Horticultural Therapy from the Institute of Horticultural Therapy at Colorado State University.
When Silvia is not working, she loves to dance, bike, hike, and as a certified permaculture designer, she volunteers at community gardens in the East Bay area, encouraging others to create their own edible garden.
