Paralegal
María Elena is a Mexican immigrant of Mayan descent, a DACA recipient, and the first in her family to attend college. She is inspired to attend law school and become an immigration attorney to help her community and be a leader for young people like herself. She started off as a Fellow through the DREAMSF program and decided to stay with CARECEN SF after her six-month fellowship program. She has been doing this type of work for over three years. She is currently working towards majoring in Political Science at San Francisco State University.
