José was born in Los Angeles, California and was raised the the Bay Area by Hondureño parents. He was the first one of his family to be born in the United States. He graduated high school in 2004 and received his B.A. in Latin American Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2010. Jose is currently enrolled in the San Francisco State University Master of Public Health in Community Education degree program where he hopes to graduate in 2019. Seeing and experiencing the struggles his parents overcame and of his family currently in Honduras, José is dedicated to working with young people and sharing tools to help them be successful on their own terms. In his spare time, José likes to figure out what he is going to do when he grows up.
