Jaime is a committed community leader and advocate dedicated to addressing the inequities faced by low-income and marginalized populations. As an immigrant and gay Latino man, he has spent over twenty years in various roles—manager, educator, and leader—developing programs, forming partnerships, and enacting policy changes that uplift communities of color. At the Good Samaritan Family Resource Center, Jaime, as the Special Projects Manager for 12 years, spearheaded initiatives enhancing services for immigrant families, focusing on early childcare and access to medical services in San Francisco. He developed training programs for community leaders to spread essential health-related information. As Chair of the San Francisco Latino Parity & Equity Coalition (SFLPEC), he secured a $28.5 million commitment from the mayor during the pandemic, significantly expanding the coalition’s reach by involving Latino arts, media, and LGBTQ organizations. His leadership ensured accurate census counts in 2020 and educated communities on critical issues like COVID-19 vaccines and DACA eligibility. Previously, Jaime directed the Transitional Housing Program at Hamilton Family Center, advocating for the Housing First model and collaborating with the Drug Court of San Francisco to help formerly incarcerated individuals reunite with their families and pursue recovery. Currently, Jaime is pursuing a Business Administration degree at San Francisco State University and has recently completed an 80-hour Drug & Alcohol Education certification from UCSF. His future goals include advancing his education in organizational development and leading organizations like CARECEN SF. Jaime’s relentless drive and team-building skills underscore his commitment to fostering significant and enduring societal change.
