Mission Children's Oral Health Task Force Coordinator
Gabriela, a proud daughter of Mexican immigrant parents, was born and raised in the vibrant city of Los Angeles amidst a closely-knit Latinx community. Her upbringing instilled in her a deep sense of cultural pride and community responsibility. Determined to make a difference, she pursued her education to become a dental hygienist, driven by the stark dental care disparities prevalent in her community.
After completing her studies at Taft College in 2017, Gabriela put her skills to use for the betterment of her community. She dedicated her time to volunteering with expectant mothers, farmworkers, and children, recognizing the importance of accessible dental care for all.
Gabriela’s commitment to addressing healthcare disparities within the Latinx community is not just a profession but a passion deeply rooted in her own experiences and cultural identity.
