Staff Attorney — Immigration Legal Program
Virginia Ambeliotis joined CARECEN SF in August 2025. At CARECEN, she works mostly with young people seeking immigration assistance. She has a B.A. from Barnard College, a master’s degree from Tufts University, and a J.D. from Boston College Law School. In law school, Virginia worked in the immigration clinic on a case before the First Circuit Court of Appeals, interned for several immigrants’ rights organizations, worked part-time for a business immigration law firm for a year, and graduated with honors. Before attending law school, Virginia worked as a legal aid paralegal and volunteered as a tutor for ESL learners.
The granddaughter of a Greek immigrant, Virginia is drawn to CARECEN’s mission of uplifting people who migrate and fostering community in immigrant diasporas in the Bay Area. Virginia speaks Spanish and became licensed to practice law in California in December 2025.
