Staff Attorney
Andrea was born in El Salvador and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area when she was 10 years old. She has a B.A. in Women in Gender Studies from San Francisco State University and a J.D. from UC Davis School of Law (King Hall). Andrea began her legal career in 2015 as DreamSF Fellow, working with individuals and families facing removal from the U.S.
Before joining CARECEN SF, Andrea was a Skadden Fellow with Mission Action (then, Dolores Street Community Services), representing non-detained and detained low-income immigrants, many experiencing homelessness. In law school, Andrea was a member of the UC Davis Immigration Law Clinic where she worked on federal litigation on behalf of detained immigrants and was an intern with the Immigration Unit of the Alameda County Public Defender’s Office.
Andrea speaks English and Spanish. She is licensed to practice law in the state of California. In her free time, Andrea likes to take walks and teach her two cats tricks.
