Bookkeeper — Administration
Ana’s connection to CARECEN SF’s mission is personal. Born in El Salvador, she migrated to the United States at age 13 in search of new opportunities, and went on to become the first in her family to graduate from both high school and college. At Mission High School, she was a standout in wrestling and soccer, and later earned her Bachelor’s degree in International Relations with a minor in Criminal Justice from San Francisco State University—all while working two jobs as a waitress to support herself through school.
A lifelong advocate for others, Ana volunteered as a Legal Assistant at the Immigration Institute of the Bay Area and spent eight years as a Finance Supervisor for an education services company. As a migrant herself, she has always dreamed of working for an organization that fights for and protects the rights of immigrants. Today, she brings that dedication to CARECEN SF’s administration team, supporting the Deputy Director/CFO and the Grants Director
When she’s not at work, you’ll find Ana taking long nature walks with her fur baby, Leo, or training in Olympic weightlifting.
