UPDATE ON FAMILY WELLNESS PROGRAM
Due to budget reductions in the City and County of San Francisco impacting community-based programs across the city, CARECEN SF will temporarily pause some services within our Family Wellness Program.
What to know:
We are still here for you. Even with reduced staffing and resources, our commitment to community, healing, and mutual aid remains strong.
These services continue:
bilingual peer support groups, workshops, community events, distribution of basic needs, information and referrals, language access assistance, and assistance with urgent needs.
We recognize the stress these changes may cause. Our team will continue to share reliable information, tools, and resources to help reduce trauma and insecurity related to housing, food, economic, and health issues.
Thank you for your patience and solidarity as we navigate this temporary pause together.
Supporting families when they need it the most
We respond to the needs of families facing multiple barriers or in crisis as a result of migratory status, poverty, social isolation, violence, and other social and health disparities. The program emphasizes participant-centered, strength-based, and culturally affirming approaches to support the families we partner with.
Family Wellness Program staff guide participants through crisis management, make referrals, advocate on their behalf and provide emotional supports that helps families advance on their path towards self-sufficiency and social integration.
We work closely with partner agencies to connect families to health services and academic support, job training and employment programs, food pantries, shelter and rental subsidies, arts and cultural activities among other critical resources.
