Laura Victoria Sánchez, Esq. is the director for the CARECEN SF’s Immigration Legal Program. She holds a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings and a B.A. in political science from Loyola University New Orleans. She was admitted to the California State Bar in December 2007. She currently serves as the secretary for the Board of American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) of Northern California, and she previously held the advocacy and office of Chief Counsel co-liaison positions. Laura has a long-standing commitment to serving the immigrant community and represents CARECEN SF in various coalitions to enact pro-immigrant policies including FreeSF. She is the daughter of Mexican immigrants and the first of her family to attend law school. During her free time she enjoys spending time with her children Joaquin and Julieta and her husband, Dean.
